The Story of Freeze The Moment Photography
A Passion for Pictures
Hello! I'm Kirsty, a photographer based in Mackay, Queensland.
A little about me: I’m a full-time primary school teacher with a passion for photography and trucking. I'm married to Adam, and we share our home with our lovable fur baby, Stella.

Here’s a bit of a long story, but I hope you stick around for the ride…
It all began in May 2019 when my partner, Adam, mentioned he wanted to attend the Brisbane Truck Show. He wasn’t sure if I’d be interested, since trucks weren’t exactly my thing at the time. However, he was excited about a Drake Collectibles model release.
Now, I’ve always had a competitive streak, and at that release, only 100 of the 1:50 Kenworth T900 Legend models were being offered. I had no idea what the T900 Legend even was until then, but I found the backstory of the 257 models fascinating. Drake had produced 514 T900 models in the PACCAR livery, with 257 plated and 257 unplated. I was lucky enough to snag one of the first 100 released. From that moment on, I became enamored with the T900 Legend and the PACCAR livery, and I developed a new obsession with photographing my model.
Fast forward to September 30, 2019. Adam called to tell me about a stunning purple T900 he spotted at our local Bunnings while on his way to work. Since I was on school holidays (I'm a full-time teacher), I decided to check it out. When I arrived, the driver hadn’t unloaded yet, so I went back home and returned an hour later, only to find the truck parked with both trailers attached. Being an introvert, I nervously approached the driver and asked if I could take some photos. He kindly agreed and we ended up chatting for a while about his trucks. He proudly pointed out the beautiful purple chassis color. It wasn’t until later that I discovered the driver was Alastair Mackay, the owner of the business. That conversation with Alastair opened up a whole new world of trucking for me. It helped me come out of my shell, become more confident, and gain the courage to talk to people.
Since then, my interest in trucking has skyrocketed. If you had asked me four years ago to identify a truck, I wouldn’t have had a clue. Now, I get excited when I see cool rigs passing by.
What started as a passion for truck photography has also sparked my love for formal photography and family shoots. I’m always eager to try new things and push my boundaries.
Thanks for reading 🤘🏻
Keep on trucking 🤙🏻
